Summer Session 2 for Middle School Students

Session 2 (July 14 – July 25)
Ceramics: Intro to Pottery
We’re going to explore the idea of functional pottery working through some of the basic ways to form clay. Pinch, slab, and coil will be used to shape the clay into domestic objects that can be used. We’ll be making our own plates, bowls, and mugs, to name a few of the objects covered in this session.
Design: Urban Art Adventure
Students will embark on a journey through Pittsburgh’s diverse art installations and murals. By exploring various techniques in drawing, painting, and stencil making; students will gain hands-on experience to create their own public art projects.
Digital: Fantastical Worlds
Unlock the secrets of creating magical worlds in this digital illustration course. You’ll learn how to create everything from fantastical creatures to enchanted landscapes using digital tools and techniques.
