Manchester Craftsmen's Guild Youth and Arts

We are going to be braving the heat and playing with fire this summer! In this sped up class, we’ll focus on non-functional works that enrich our minds and get away from traditional dinnerware, while still using the potter’s wheel and hand building techniques to create sculptural and decorative works. For those who aren’t familiar: Raku is a firing process where we heat our artwork up to 1900 degrees, then we pull our work out and rapidly cool it by placing it in a low oxygen environment!
